Host Country & City: The championships were hosted in Liverpool, United Kingdom (England).

Dates: The event took place from 4 to 14 September 2025.

Organizer: It was organized by World Boxing, the new international governing body for Olympic-style boxing, formed as an alternative to the International Boxing Association (IBA).

3. Who has been appointed as the new Indian Ambassador to the UAE?

Answer : Deepak Mittal

Who is Dr. Deepak Mittal?

• He is a 1998-batch Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officer.

• Recently appointed as India’s Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in September 2025.

• He succeeds Sunjay Sudhir, who retired after serving as Ambassador since 2021.

Previous Roles :

• Ambassador to Qatar (2020–2023) → Played an important role in managing India’s relations during the pandemic and in regional diplomacy.

• Additional Secretary in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) → Handled high-level foreign policy coordination before his UAE posting.

• India–Taliban Talks (2021) → Dr. Mittal represented India in Doha when New Delhi held its first official talks with Taliban leaders after they took control of Afghanistan.

Importance of his appointment :

• The UAE is one of India’s closest strategic and trade partners.

• Over 3.5 million Indians live in the UAE, making it India’s largest overseas diaspora hub.

• UAE is also India’s third-largest trading partner and a key ally in energy, investment, space, and technology cooperation.

• Dr. Mittal’s experience in the Gulf region and sensitive diplomatic negotiations makes him well-suited for this role.
